Bio

Brendon serves as pastor of Cardiff City Church. He has authored several books including, Apostles: Who and what are they?  The Doctrine of Subsequence, Just the Basics, and Fable Razzle-Dazzle them. Brendon was born in South Africa however currently residing in the United Kingdom for the past ten-years. Brendon is a graduate of Oral Roberts University (Oklahoma, U.S.A). He holds a Master of Arts degree from the University of Wales in Theology and a Master of Arts in Christian Theology from Trinity Seminary & Canterbury Christchurch University. He is married to Sophie. They have two children, Jean-Pierre and Emmanuelle.

My Christian Testimony

As a young child growing up in South Africa, Brendon struggled to stay motivated at school. Added to this, his parents divorced when he was 13. Doing wrong became a part of his life. The young Brendon made use of his business expertise to survive. He became Junior Mayor of his town. Power led to corruption and unhappiness.

“Almost every week I was in the newspapers. It made me feel great, but I was not happy,” he said. One day, he was in a store when the owner challenged him to re-examine his Christian faith. Conviction led Brendon to repent from his ways and turn to God. He also began to tell others about his faith. “My life changed in an instant,” he said. His grades improved, and after completing his A levels, he headed to England to study international law.

Alone in the country, Brendon obtained work as a waiter to support himself, and helped out in the hostel where he was staying. It was at the hostel that he met a lovely young French woman named Sophie when he carried her bags for her. Sophie came from a village in rural France, where God was not welcome in her family. Her grandfathers, who fought in World War II, held God responsible for the war.

She studied accountancy at university, but didn’t enjoy it, and decided to go to Peru, South America, to do humanitarian work. “I saw poverty all around me…Somewhere I knew there was a god who would be the solution – but whom, how? I did not know,” she said. She started a degree in teaching, but did not pass the course, so she moved to London, and met Brendon at the hostel.

“He was different,” she said. “He always had his Bible with him, was always smiling and I could see a fire in his eyes. “I wanted what he had.”

Sophie went to a church by herself. When the pastor preached, she realised she needed Jesus, and cried so loudly that she attracted the attention of those around her. Brendon bought her a French Bible and she discovered an immense thirst for God’s Word.

Later that year, they married. Brendon worked as a youth pastor at a church in Westminster for four years, leaving to pursue theological studies through US-based Oral Roberts University and thereafter continuing with the University of Wales. So far, Brendon has completed Bachelor of Arts in Theology (summa cum laude) and two Masters of Theology degrees.  “The reason I am a pastor is not because I choose a profession, but rather God chose me,” he said.
